Border City

Exhibition design, infographics and type design for ‘Border City’, Mexico’s installation at the inaugural edition of the London Design Biennale (2016) designed by the architecture firm FR-EE. Under the theme «Utopia by Design», the installation proposed building a borderless city between the U.S. and Mexico, offering a new model for a rapidly developing world as populations grow, migration increases, and economies continue to globalize.

FR-EE’s masterplan for ‘Border City’ is based on a hexagonal grid that expands radially to optimize distances and maximize efficiencies for urban planning. Expanding on it, the graphics are all designed on a hexagonal grid. For the projection and animation of all the infographics we collaborated with Super Uber.
